Does this mean the 5 min mix will need to be played live or does it mean the person who made the mix at least needs to be able to mix something live

Entries last year were people who could create tracks just using the ones provided to make their own - it would be great if this meant the mix needs to be played live because that would mean this would be an actual dj comp, rather then producer comp...

That is an interesting subject which we will discuss further in our upcoming newsletter. The short answer is "the person who made the mix at least needs to be able to mix something live".
But as a winner we would expect to see more than just basic mixing skills.

We encourage any discussion on this topic and may even create a separate thread for this topic in the future.

Yeah I agree. I think I would have a better shot if it was _base_d on mixing skill rather then computer program chopping/changing production skill, which is why I was hoping for 'the 5 min mix will need to be played live'

my current visual mix's are longer than
the stated length and size in the entry terms(not by much .
these terms seem to be tailored more towards the audio mix.
is it ok that my clips are a bit longer or will this over sight
make my visual mix's ineligible.
